FEMA may provide assistance for the repair, restoration, reconstruction, or replacement of a facility damaged or destroyed as a direct result of a major disaster. An applicant must provide documentation or other evidence to demonstrate that the work is required to repair damage caused by the declared incident and where pre-existing damage exists, to distinguish that damage from disaster related damage. The Applicant provided documentation to distinguish predisaster damage due to ordinary wear and tear from structural damage to Facility-1 occurring as a result of the declared disaster.

The Applicant has demonstrated the work to repair the damage to Facility-1 was required as a result of the declared incident. Therefore, this appeal is granted for $1,601,597.00.
