To be eligible for financial assistance, an item of work must be required as the result of the emergency or major disaster event. Damage that results from a cause other than the designated event is not eligible. The documentation provided by the Applicant does not demonstrate that there was additional disaster-related damage and has therefore performed work outside of the approved scope of work.
FEMA finds that the documentation provided by the Applicant does not demonstrate that the work related to the additional length of gabion wall and embankment was required as a result of the disaster. Therefore, this appeal is denied.
