FEMA’S EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT INSTITUTE (EMI) RELEASED 28 NEW PUBLIC ASSISTANCE INDEPENDENT STUDY COURSES

FEMA’s Emergency Management Institute (EMI) released 28 new Public Assistance Independent Study courses. Course content covers the Public Assistance Program and delivery process, including general concepts, such as documenting disaster damage and orientation to the Public Assistance delivery model. The new course content also includes specialized topics, such as bridge damage, roads and culverts, electrical systems, and grant decisions for tribal governments.

These online courses are designed for state, local, tribal and territorial (SLTT) government personnel and elected and appointed officials. The information provided in the courses will benefit Public Assistance recipients, emergency management supervisory, operations and support personnel, nonprofit organizations, and other Public Assistance stakeholders to navigate the grant process.
