Chapter 7 › XIII.E Pre-Positioning Resources

Will FEMA pay to stage equipment and supplies before the disaster hits?

FEMA term
Pre-positioning resources
Short answer

Yes, if the equipment and supplies are used for eligible emergency work. Pre-positioning outside the declared area is also eligible for search and rescue, evacuation, sheltering or emergency medical care during evacuation, if the resources were ultimately used for the declared area.

What FEMA requires

Labor for pre-positioning follows the force account labor rules in Chapter 6.

Documentation

Records of what was staged, where and when, and how it was later used on eligible work.

Watch out · Govstar practitioner advice

Resources that were staged and never used are hard to claim. Document deployment, not just staging.
